Hi, I run a local £10 tournament at the Rifleman's Arms, Salthouse Road, Barrow-in-Furness every Sunday, new players and beginners welcome, tuition is available for anyone who hasnt enjoyed a live game of poker before (Please turn up an hour early)
Registration starts at 7.30 and the game usually starts at 8.30. We play a double chance game, so if you lose all your chips early on you have another stack in reserve.
Anyone interested can either just turn up on the night or telephone 07739507312 for more details

Regards
Paul

Well the poker scene is still about but a lot of things have changed over the past couple of years

The oldest and best run game nowadays is held at The Bridge (Dalton) This was originally at Dalton Cons, moved to The Railway, Dalton for a few months before finally ending up at The Bridge, held on a Wednesday Night and starts 8pm sharp, sees an attendance of 30+ local poker players, they also run an optional league for regulars.
Part of the attraction is that it is only £10 entry (£1 to charity and £1 for best hand) Free Food and beer prices are reduced on the night, with lager being only £2.00 a pint. Anyone who is considering playing their first live event and is a little unsure can always contact me beforehand for some quick coaching tips or alternatively just turn up on the night to enjoy one of the friendliest and most enjoyable games in the area
