Just a hello, I am a 44 yo kid with many hobbies mainly involving the waters around Walney Island. I instruct kitesurfing for a living and like to keep an eye on things going on in and around the Barrow area especially when it comes to the councils ability to squander money on pointless projects. I look forward to using the forum for gathering and giving help and info.

Unfortunately not, trouble is when they are looking for support and votes then officials are knocking at your door. Once in power they become as elusive, ignoring requests from the tax paying public, e-mails etc. And funding, millions of pounds once again have been given to a select few people in Furness Enterprise to distribute to deserving businesses. These select few seem to have no vision and certainly no means of understanding businesses outside the normal category of business. When you read in the local rag millions available to furness businesses it looks good but try to get some of it.

Hi Chris, thanks for the welcome. Just today I found out about the airshow possibility. Lets hope the committee get everything submitted on time this year. I had a bit of a shock when it was June as I am hoping to get the BKSA kitesurfing championships again for the first or second week in June. I don't think kites and planes would work well together.

Not too sure how big the beach is down there, but why not offer a free demo for the morning of the show, might get a few more people interested in the sport?

Potentially a good idea Chris but due to flying restrictions and an agreement drawn up between the airport manager and myself it would be a bit out of order for me to do this. I may try to get a stall at the show though. My day will come when the National kitesurfing championships come again in June.

Hi Buy Sauna, I've deleted the content of your post as it's a bit spamish, though I haven't deleted your account yet. Admin
