Cumbric.net owns Cumbric.org and Cumbric.org.uk

If you have a use you could put one or both of these domains to, you're welcome to them at no charge.

If the registration is left to lapse, they could be snapped up by someone who 'squats' on domains - and attempts to sell them back at an inflated price - so to get them at a future date might cost a lot. (They might not be 'snapped' up, but they might.)

They're currently registered with godaddy.com and I believe godaddy allow transfers from one account to another at no charge, so that would cost nothing.

There's a registration fee - as with all domains - that would cost you a few pounds a year - I think it's about $10 per year, but I think you can cut that down to about $7 by using coupon codes and things (easy to find - just google "godaddy coupon code"). So maybe around a fiver a year in pounds to upkeep a domain.

I know there're one or two people with Cumbric-language blogs. You might well know, but you can 'forward' domains to blogs, or to any other site - so that people have an easy-to-remember name to type in - Cumbric.org / Cumbric.org.uk. If you click 'mask' in your account when you're forwarding it, the address in the url bar stays "Cumbric.whatever", so while your site might be at onelongword.followedby.anotherlongword.com, it remains Cumbric.whatever in the address bar.

If you have a good use for one or both of them, or if you foresee having a good use for one or both of them, please PM me - and leave a note in this thread to say that you've PM'd - so that I know to log in.

Please give me an idea of how you might plan to use the domain.

Cheers.

:'(well i really will be sorry if the site goes, and at the same time i,m sorry i cant post more, i only found the time today because i got made redundant on friday, so instead of the early start driving, i,ll make a little later start and go job hunting instead,(apparantly theres a recession) well it said on the telly so it must be correct, and even the local tv are paying off, so they,ll know.
so if any one wants a grey haired "slightly" overweight class 1 driver, there,s me and a couple of thousand of me mates. Cry
